Rescue Me ID: 14-12-18-00299Tanya (female)

Maltese Mix    Age: Puppy

Tanya is a Lhasa Apso/Maltese mix this girl is about about 1.5- 2 years old. She came to us from Pinal County. When we got her she had a pretty severe tick infestation... Once we shaved her we noticed some ring like marks we originally thought was ringworm, and her stomach was distended. We took her to the next day. It turns out she had a tick disease, thrombocytopenia, and her spleen was enlarged and bleeding. This poor girl was very sick! We are currently treating all of these, but as our vet tells us Tanya will take a little time for us to get her 100%. She CAN go into foster/foster to adopt if you do fall in love with her. We would get ... (Read More)her healthy for you and she can be with you in your home. She is a VERY sweet girl. She just loves to cuddle and get attention. She's a quiet girl, just kind of hangs out and looks at you with those big beautiful eyes. She's in a house with several other dogs, and children she does just fine with both! :) She will be spayed, UTD on her vaccines, and microchipped once we get her healthy. Her adoption fee is $200. Maltese Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It's tough to describe this 6 month old Malti-Poo with mere words. George is an absolute love! He's a ball of fluff and full of energy! George makes friends everywhere! Sadly, George was born without the use of his back legs. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all though. His upper body is incredibly strong, and he's even managed to learn to go up the stairs (going downs a bit scary, so it's good to have a human nearby). Doctors find him to be a bit of a mystery. They believe he has spinal damage to the L2-L3 area. They don't believe he can feel his legs or tail at all. However, he has more muscle mass than they'd expect for a paralyzed ... (Read More)dog at his age. He also moves his legs quite a bit. We are told that the movement we see him do is 'reflex' movement, something his spine is programmed to 'remember' even though his brain can't communicate past the injury. Based on the current belief from the medical community and the area of George's spinal damage, he shouldn't be able to do any tail movement beyond the reflex movement. However, this little guy wags his tail because he's happy to see you! We are sure of it! The doctors are baffled by it. His happy tail is a true testament and symbol of the awesomeness that is George! George is looking for a wonderful forever family who can look past his disability and focus on his abilities and all the love he has to share! George loves people and would love to look into becoming a therapy dog to visit people in hospitals, if that's something a forever family would like to pursue for him. He also loves to play with other dogs! George is just, flat out, and all around perfect pet (if you are someone who doesn't have to sweat the small stuff). For more information about this gorgeous ball of puppy fluff, please contact his foster family at burgessfosterpups@cox.net. Sometimes it isn't done as quickly as we would like though. Our apologies in advance. CAN YOU HELP US???? R.A.I.N. Rescue is desperately seeking foster homes for SMALL dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. We currently need volunteers for these Departments: Foster Homes, Transporters, Groomer, Adoption Center, Donation Station and Fund-raisers. FOSTERING: We take in 'small' dogs, puppies, cats and kittens to foster. The fosters DO NOT pay out of pocket for expenses while fostering ANY animals in our Rescue. This is a common misconception. The Rescue pays for everything necessary. We also accommodate for time away*. *Some of our best fosters have been the winter visitors, who may only be able to take in dogs for 3-4 months. TRANSPORTERS: A person designated to take the dogs and cats for their vetting, (spay/neuter etc), grooming and sometimes to pick up and drop off at adoption events when the fosters are unable to bring them. Transporters may also pick up new strays/owner surrenders etc. and taking them to their foster home. This position will pay mileage. FUND-RAISERS: Anything to help bring in funds to our non-profit Rescue. You will earn 10% of the money brought in to help the animals for each event! GROOMER: A skilled groomer with their own grooming equipment that can groom/bathe/clip nails on small dogs/puppies. We will supply the shampoo/towels etc. We would bring them to your location in the east valley. VOLUNTEERS AT ADOPTION CENTER: Cleaning cat kennels (inside help with cats and kittens weekday days and nights), cat laundry (pick up and drop off), play time with cats, feeding cats, walking dogs, cleaning dog kennels, watering, feeding, quiet petting time and play time with dogs. PHOTO POSTINGS: Cats and kittens that are adoption ready at the Petsmart Center, take photos of cats and kittens and get information on them, post on three of our favorite sites online. DONATION STATION: Someone to 'faithfully' be at Petsmart and set up the donation table (table provided), The table will have items on it with information about our rescue, our business cards, volunteer job listings, a donation jar, and a donation basket for anyone wanting to donate misc. items (dog food/toys etc) and small items that can be given out to those who donate. Flexible day(s) and time(s) can be discussed. *All these positions help the animals find forever homes. Please open your heart and possibly your home, costing you only 'time'. Nothing 'out of pocket''|.and all from your heart. Many Thanks!!!! If you are able to help out~ Please go to our website for a volunteer or foster application. www.azrain.org (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Sophie is approximately 10-11 months old. We are not sure what she is mixed with. She weighs approximately 7 lbs and probably won't get any bigger than 15lbs, if that. We believe that Sophie is deaf. Because of her lack of hearing she does startle easy and can have moments of confusion which causes her to be a little snappy at times. This will improve with ongoing training. Sophie is working on getting the proper training she needs so to learn her commands a different way.     Come meet Cuddles this Saturday at the PACC911 adoptathon in Scottsdale! The event will be at the Indian Bend Pavillions Petco from 10-3. Cuddles is a darling 5lb 9 year old maltese who loves everyone he meets! He is as sweet as he is cute. Cuddles would do best in a quieter home, as too much excitement and he starts to cough. He is not 100% housetrained. He does go outside and potty but will still use the pottypads. Sometimes he pees by his food dish. He has worn a bellyband in the home, but we don't like to leave it on too long--for fear of a bladder or skin infection. If you are familiar with the maltese breed, none of this ...
