Rescue Me ID: 15-08-18-00200FANCY (female)

Maltese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FANCY is a tiny little girl who was not properly cared for, and the owner dropped her off at the neighbors door step...in a diaper. YES, you read right....The diaper was the owners way of NOT TRAINING HER! Her backend is stained from sitting in urine and feces. She has had issues with people making a fast action towards her, otherwise, she is fine. PLEASE NO SMALL KIDS for this little girl. Fancy deserves a nice patient & calm home and someone that prefers a couch and sleeping partner..once she's comfortable, a walking parter won't be in question. She is learning the doggy door, and she does fine with the other small dogs in the home ... (Read More)and the cat too! She weighs in at approx. 4-5 lbs and she is white with a few beige spots on her side. She will come to her new home current on immunization shots, rabies shot, micro-chipped and she will be spay. Fancy is 2 years old. She cannot get much cuter than she is..check her out for yourself! Fancy's adoption fee is set at $225.00 *If you still see Fancy on the internet, she is still available. We remove our dogs with in 48 hrs of the adoption. PLEASE go to our website www.azrain.org and click on the ADOPT tab, then the DOG INTEREST FORM and complete the Application to be considered for Fancy or any of our R.A.I.N. Rescue Dogs. THANKS for wanting to Rescue your next Family Member!! Do you see me? If so, my forever home has NOT been chosen yet. The only way to have a chance at me is to get your application in at www.azrain.org Please don't call to ask if this dog/puppy is still available. We remove them with in 24 hours of adoption, besides, you know you will find another one and your application will be good for 90 days for any of our dogs/puppies at R.A.I.N. Rescue! THANKS FOR WANTING TO RESCUE YOUR NEXT FAMILY MEMBER!! The 1st step to adopting any of our dogs is to fill out an application by going to our website. www.azrain.org. Click on forms tab, then DOG INTEREST FORM. Your application stays on file with us for 90 days, in the event you are not chosen to adopt the dog you filled out the application for. Please don't email us, if you haven't filled out an application 1st. We do not bring our small dogs to adoption events, because #1) they are normally scared to death and very nervous, not knowing what's going on with the many people coming up to the pens and hovering over them. Many shiver and shake with the unknown. #2) People adopt on impulse when they see a particularly 'cute' dog/puppy. When they are adopted on impulse, reality sets in with in the 1st month of adopting it...Oh, this puppy ate the leg off my chair, I can't have that!.., or ...You said this dog was house trained and it pees all over... and then in many cases they are returned to rescue. #3) When people have to fill out a form 1st, and read all the questions about the care of a dog/puppy, they see that there are many aspects to adopting a family member, that they may not of thought of. They also realize that it is a life time commitment. The application Is done prior to adopting, so the family understands the seriousness and responsibilities of ownership. We have applications available at 2840 W Chandler Blvd. (At Petsmart, in the Lowes shopping center). It is located at the 101 and chandler blvd. OR, you can go to our website and get one, then email back to us at info@azrain.org OR, hand deliver it to us on Saturdays at our Donation Table we have set up, right of the front door of Petsmart. Volunteers run the table every Saturday from 10am-2pm. They will make sure it gets to the correct Dept. Many Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are a 501c3 non profit Rescue. R.A.I.N. Rescue (Rescuing Animals in Need). ** ALL OF OUR PETS ARE: micro-chipped, (cats are feline Leukemia tested), up to date on immunization shots, spayed/neutered and dogs are current on Rabies shot.. The dogs/puppies are taken off the website with in 48 hrs of being adopted, SO if you see one that interests you, plz fill out an application. IN THE EVENT you do not get the dog or cat that you are applying for, your application will stay on file for 3 months. If you find another pet with RAIN Rescue that you are interested in, (within the 3 month period), just call or email us and tell us the name of the pet and that you have previously filled out a INTEREST form, and which one you are currently interested in. We will pull your application for the specific dog. ** Just a reminder: we are all volunteers...we all have jobs outside from our volunteer job at the Rescue. We are sorry that we will not make a special time and place to meet you without a consultation application done up. We are able to weed through many applications with out taking too much time. Meeting up prior to an application being done has been found to be unproductive, taking much time for all the volunteers involved, and YOUR time too! DOG QUESTIONS: CALL 480-628-5058 (Less)

Maltese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Wow, where to start. We receive a call from a shelter asking if we had room to take a small little blind girl. Since clearly vision is not a requirement in our rescue, we said yes. A few days later a tiny little white, shy girl arrived. She was hesitant to walk anywhere, she seemed so uncertain, so unsure. Her eyes were so damaged--what was it from? They had both ruptured a long time ago. Was this intentionally done by a human? Was it a birth defect? Regardless, she had lived with those eyes for a LONG time. Painful. Unbelievable. She immediately went in to our vet for surgery. We were shocked when we found out the eyes were not her ... (Read More)biggest problem. Our little friend had a belly full of tumors. They were all over her groin, chest. Although they were benign, they were fast growing and needed to be removed immediately. She was so tiny, that if they grew at all there would be no way to remove them and have enough skin, even with graphs, to remove and close the surgery sites. Surgery was extensive, she was under anesthesia so long there was no time to remove the eyes. They had to wait. Remember the wedding photo of the gorgeous couple who in lieu of gifts had people donate to Ruby Ranch? Well....here we have the recipient of their generous donation. Meet Helen. We were shocked when we found out the eyes were not her biggest problem. Little Helen recovered nicely-albeit with over 20 staples and countless stitches all over her. Round two of surgery was last week, and both eyes were finally removed. Once again, our little girl was a trooper. What can we say...why in the world would we go to these lengths to save just one dog. Helen is special. Very special. Despite her horrific previous life, she has a very gentle soul, everyone who meets her immediately falls in love, she somehow seems to radiate peace, and has a calming energy about her. This girl, has a very important journey and life ahead of her. We all know it, we just haven't figured out what that is yet. The day will soon come when she is ready to start the search for her forever family. A therapy dog? At a minimum. We can't wait to see what is in store for our little survivor. (Less)
