Animal ID: 33AJ (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet AJ, Lucky Dog #33. This 14-month-old Maltese/Terrier mix is a super friendly boy that needs a forever home. AJ is a young dog that was owner surrendered due to a change in his family's status. They felt that they could no longer provide him with the attention he needed and deserved. He is very sweet, gentle and affectionate and loves everyone and everything. He loves being around people and wants to be your best friend. He is great with other dogs, cats and children. AJ would be great for a moderately active family as he loves going for walks and playing with his toys in the yard. He is crate trained and has some basic training, and his ... (Read More)foster mom says he is just a perfect little boy! His hair was a bit of a mess, so he had to be shaved, but he will soon be a fluffy little boy again. AJ is being fostered in Brandon, Fl., and is current on vaccinations, heartworm, and flea/tick preventatives. AJ's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip and vaccinations. (Less)

Male Maltese, 6 six years old. Loving and playful doggie needs a home with a human that does not travel frequently for work. Coco has a condition called EPI, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. It is a permanent condition, it cannot be cured, and is easily managed by sprinkling enzymes to his grain free food. Coco does not like to be carried but loves it when adults get on the floor to cuddle and scratch and him. He also likes to play with his toys. He interacts better with adults than small kids.

Animal ID: 16-075Hope (female)

Maltese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Vaccinations Current

Updated Bio 5/04/16: Meet Hope! Hope is an approximately 4 year old, slightly underweight 10 lb Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) that found her dirty, matted self at the local shelter, when she wandered away from her home. We think that is a good thing, because not only was she very matted, but she had a huge mammary tumor on her that must have caused her a lot of pain. Hope is being fostered in West Palm Beach, FL'. Hope's adoption fee is $3'25' and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may ... (Read More)apply to adopt 'Hope' by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page. Hope went for her second visit to the vet yesterday, where she was spayed and had her tumor removed. The vet could not say either way whether the tumor was cystic or malignant, but she did not see anything else that was a cause for alarm. They removed the tumor in it's entirety, and with the spay, we do not expect any more tumors to reappear as she no longer has the hormones that contribute to the growth of tumors. Hope is expected to make a full recovery and live a full life. Hope is very playful and loves to play with the kitties in the house. The kitties on the other hand, don't appreciate all the attention. Hope has discovered if they don't run, they actually are not fun to chase, so she would do best in a house with cats that don't care about her and can't be bothered to run. She also gets along with the dogs, and her little tail just wags and wags when she meets other dogs. However, her foster brothers are smaller and can be a bit high strung, and that has caused some tension between her and them. We think she would do best in a home with either no other dog or a dog closer to her size if not a bit larger, and one that doesn't growl or snap at her. While Hope does have a bit of energy and would benefit from at least one daily walk if not more, she is fairly low key and does not bark very much. She walks great on a leash and stops when her person stops. Hope is fully house trained, but she does need to be let out in a timely manner. At the moment, she is going out every 4 to 5 hours with no accidents. Hope has not been around children, but based on her happy, outgoing demeanor, we think she would do best with children over 12. She does not need a fenced in yard if she is walked daily. (Less)

Maltese Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis, Abused/Neglected

Bonnie is as cute as her picture shows! A senior lady ..maybe 8-9 years old, it's a guess when they come into the rescue most of the time. She's soft, white as snow and a sassy little lady. She is completely vetted, with all her vaccinations up to date. She is spayed, HW tested and heart worm free, micro chipped and she has had a dental . Bonnie had really bad teeth, infection and needed minor surgery to repair some gum issue . Once the dental was completed Bonnie had lost all her teeth, thus the tongue hanging out. She does not appear to be a dog that has had a lot of training, we are working on the house training and she's doing well. She ... Rescue Me ID: 15-02-14-00050Chico (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

This little 8 lb boy is about as cute as they come. He prances around the yard, gets along great with the other dogs and comes to you begging for attention. He is cheery and can be very snuggly. Chico does have a little attitude though and can be very possessive of the person holding him. 98% of the time he is adorable and loves people but he will require an experienced owner who can work with his Big Boy attitude in a small boy body. He will bring lots of laughs and joy to the special person who can get him through this one issue. Chico had a horrible puppyhood in a very abusive home and he deserves a second chance. Please apply for ... (Read More)chico at www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org and come meet him today! (Less)
