Rescue Me ID: 14-09-14-00402BRIAN (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

BRIAN is a delightful companion. He is a Bichon Frise/Maltese Mix. He weighs about 15 lbs, is healthy, has all his shots, heartworm medication and flea treatments. He is also microchipped; that was just renewed. Brian will love to cuddle up with you on the couch or on a chair - he considers himself a lapdog. He loves your attention, too. He is housebroken, although he does best when he is walked, not just let outside. He does like to announce passing strangers (people and dogs) by barking a bit. He LOVES to take long walks outdoors. He can be very playful, although he likes to grab your hands as he plays and sometimes he doesn't quite know ... (Read More)his own strength and might scare a baby or young child with his exuberance. Brian is 10 years old but thinks he is much younger. He gets along beautifully with people and well with most other dogs, although big black dogs seem to upset him. Anyone would be lucky to have Brian as a companion. He would do better in a home that has no babies or toddlers as they grab at him and that scares him. Older children (over the age of 6 are fine as long as they are taught not to grab, sqeeze or try to sit on him LOL). He is the perfect dog for a senior or family that has older kids. We are also looking for a foster for him in the mean time till we can find his furever home! If you are interested in fostering or adopting this gorgeous baby, please fill out an application on the following link http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html (Less)

Animal ID: 156968210Romeo (male)

Maltese    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Petite male Maltese 10 mo. old puppy, AKC registered with papers, up to date with shots & all medical records available. I am looking for a loving adult home for Romeo and prefer a person or family experienced with small dogs and vet references. I think that he would do very well with the companionship of another small dog. He is small with petite facial features and will probably be 6 lbs. full grown. I have been home full time with Romeo since he was a pup & would prefer a home where the new owner is home during the days since he would not do well with long periods alone and he does not do well with confinement. I am a senior citizen with ... (Read More)health problems and have been home with him from the beginning. He has recently transitioned to outdoor potty training and is very successful, but requires walks about every 2 hrs. Originally he was paper trained but now prefers the outdoors. He is very loveable and social, loves to play & follow his person (s) around. He comes pre-spoiled, loves to be the center of attention & needs a special home where he can continue to have all the loving care and attention that he deserves. I have many pics available for email to anyone interested and will gladly answer any of your questions. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-05-00431Shallbe (female)

Maltese Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shallbe is a Coton de Tulear (not a Maltese.. but this form did not have her breed to choose from) . She is 10 & 3/4 Years old, 18 lbls, Healthy, Housebroken, Spayed, Up to date on shots & vetting. She is a little overweight but will slim down now that we have her on a limited calorie diet. (She has already lost 2 lbs since we have had her) Although she is healthy she does have some minor issues that require upkeep. 1) She has dry eye, and does not produce tears... so she requires artificial tears - drops 3 times a day. 2) She has some mild allergic dermatitis that is now controlled with Benadryl 2 times a day. Her elderly owner passed ... (Read More)away & the family of the owner could not keep her as they have a pitbull who's not dog friendly. She is also not dog friendly so she needs to be in a one pet household. She loves to follow you around and be petted and give licks... She loves to go for walks! She loves belly rubs and will roll over to get them. But she does not like her tail or back legs to be played with. She may try to nip initially, but is more of a faker... (lol) she tries to nip then licks you... So we prefer someone who is a strong leader. She needs an adult home with no young children under the age of 15 and an EXPERIENCED dog owner and STRONG PACK LEADER that has the patience and know how to help Shallbe with adjusting to her new home. She prefers to be the only pet in the home... She does sniff and wag her tail at some dogs, but will growl and bark and lung towards them sometimes. She also will do this sometimes meeting dogs on leash so she should never be let off leash to play with other dogs! She is really a love when you get to know her and loves to be with her human! She loves to play fetch and tug of war with her toys.... She just needs someone to give her a chance. If you are from the NORTHERN NJ or surrounding area.... Won't you consider opening your home and heart to this little cutie? If you are interested in possibly adopting Shallbe, please fill out our Adoption application at: http://www.bichonrescuenj.com/bichon-frise-rescue-nnj-adoption-app.html (Less)
