Cody is a very affectionate dog. He loves to be held and be around people. Loves to play! Cody needs more attention than what we can give him. As a result, he will find a spot and pee on it in the house. We are unable to break him of this habit in hope that someone will be able to show him the attention he needs to break it.

Animal ID: PPR16-90Baby Girl (female)

Maltese    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Baby Girl is finally ready for a new family. Baby is a Maltese, about 10 years old, and weighs 10 lbs. She came to Puppy Pals Rescue after being surrendered at an animal shelter. She has been through a lot medically since coming into the care of Puppy Pals: she has been spayed, has had two mammary tumor removal surgeries, and has had a dental. She also has been heart worm and fecal-tested (results negative) and micro-chipped. We did have a biopsy performed on a couple of the removed tumors and, unfortunately, one came back as cancer. The vet says that mammary cancer in dogs typically does not spread. She is now healthy and tumor free. ... (Read More)Watching her, you would never guess that she is 10-years-old and has had mammary cancer%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| she is full of life! Baby has been a joy to foster. She is such a good dog, and is so easy to live with and care for. She is house-broken. She's a good eater (she likes bananas and apples). She doesn't take any medications or need a special diet. She sleeps in a pen and is quiet all night. She is not destructive. She enjoys going on walks and on rides in the car (she has never gotten car sick). She loves to play with toys (she 'adopts' small fuzzy toys as her babies). She spends most of the day gazing out the window, barking at squirrels. She does have a loud bark for a small dog. Baby has some strange 'bathroom' habits%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| she squats to pee, but doesn't stop walking to do it. I call her the 'walking pee-er'. She also eats her poop. This is not a medical issue (some dogs just do it), but I think it's gross. So, I pick it up right away. I have heard that adding carrots to her diet might stop it, and pet stores carry a diet supplement that works as a deterrent. Baby has been kept in a pen following her surgeries in order to restrict her activity, but she loves to be in the pen anyway%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| even when the gate is open, that is where she is. In her new home, I'm sure that she would appreciate a space of her own with a soft bed. With a little coaxing, she will join you on the couch if you want a couch companion. Baby is very friendly with everyone. She gets along well with other dogs with the exception of other small white dogs%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD| but I think she would be OK with another small white dog if she got to know it. She hasn't been exposed to cats so we don't know how she would do. As a Maltese, Baby Girl does not shed, but she will require regular grooming. Baby Girl is a super sweet dog who will make a great addition to a lucky family! If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting this pup - you can find those at (Email the foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received!) Baby Girl just can't wait to find a forever home! Thanks!!! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-12-23-00232Nelson (male)

Maltese    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current (--- My web page to learn more about me Nelson is back in OH and will be going in on Nov 9th for another dental cleaning probably with extractions again. Poor little guy won't have many teeth left. He could use a sponsor to help pay for his dental. Nelson had his dental yesterday His second since he has been in rescue. Yesterday had to have the remaining teeth removed so he has no teeth now. He's doing well...........friendly, happy and active. He eats very well! His only issue is housebreaking, which he just doesn't seem to understand. He does use pee ... (Read More)pads.. It takes him awhile to settle down in a lap for a cuddle and he's a little wary of strangers, but not for long. Sweet little Nelson is a timid boy with so much love to give! He was very matted and underweight when he was rescued, but his fluffy white coat is growing back nicely following his emergency 'haircut' and he's starting to put on some much needed weight. Nelson is making friends with the other dogs in his foster home and is very curious about the kitty! He is still nervous about being picked up but sooooo happy when he realizes that is means he's going outside or spendingtime cuddling on a lap! He loves to run around in a fenced yard and is learning to come when he is called, and he is excited about going for walks on a leash but needs to learn some leash manners. A home without small children or big dogs (though older, respectful children and doggie playmates close to his own size would be fine), and he needs to have a securely fenced yard where he can be free to run and play!
