Animal ID: PPR16-32Zeus (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi humans! My name is Zeus. I was surrendered by a family in Anna, Ohio. I was living with another un-neutered male and un-spayed female and my owners complained that both of us guys marked too much. I am living in a foster home in Beavercreek with two spayed females and my marking behavior has decreased significantly. I was just neutered on 4/28/16, so the indoor marking should decrease or stop completely. I don't have an issue with wearing a belly band if marking remains a concern. Otherwise, I am completely house-trained. I am heartworm negative, vaccinated, and microchipped. I do have some teeth issues and just had a ... (Read More)dental at the vet where 18 teeth were extracted. I have only 8 teeth left, but the vet says those teeth are clean and strong and after my mouth heals, I should be able to chew on dental chews to help keep my remaining teeth. For now, I have to have soft food'| my favorite food is hamburger, but I also like cheese and ice cream. I am not destructive'| I don't chew on things like your furniture or your rugs. I am a little messy'| when I go outside, grass and leaves stick in my fur (this really annoys my foster dad, but my foster mom says a shorter hair cut should fix this). Because of my breed, I do not shed and am considered hypoallergenic. I have a lot of energy and am a happy guy. I dance in circles when I am really excited, like when it is time to go outside or go on a walk. I am good walking on a leash, but I do pull a little and I may snort if I get overexerted (most likely due to my short snout). I am not dog-reactive, but I can be a little dominant when meeting new dogs, so caution is recommended. I am very good in the car; I don't get car sick and I don't bark. I am not very interested in toys or playing with my foster sisters (Chihuahuas), but I love, love, love being outside. I would be happy laying in the yard all day watching what is going on outside. I am not too wild in the yard (I don't chase squirrels or birds), but be careful'| I am an escape artist. I am smaller than I look and can shimmy through a 4' opening (not to run away, but to explore or interact with people or dogs). So, a really good fenced area is important. I will bark at people walking by, but my foster mom thinks that my bark is not very loud or annoying. I know my name and I come when called most of the time. I am ready to find my forever home. I would love a family that would allow me to sleep in bed with them. Because of my marking and dominant behavior, it would be best that I not live with another male dog. I would be OK as an only dog. Because of my small size, it would be best that live only with children who are old enough to be gentle with dogs. My foster mom says that she is going to miss me bunches because I am so sweet, friendly, well-behaved, and absolutely adorable. If you have any questions please contact my foster mom at the link found at Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting me - you can find those at %A0(Email my foster home and let them know an application has been sent so they can make sure it arrives!) I just can't wait to find a forever home!%A0 Thanks!!! (Less)
