I was saved from the euthanasia list after I ended up at the City of San Antonio shelter. I am shy, but I do enjoy attention from people as long as they give me a little time to warm up. People have not always been nice to me, so I want to make sure you are a nice guy first. I weigh 16 lbs and I am about 5 years old! But 5 is very young for poodles, I could live up to 18 years if you treat me like a lady. I am a Poodle mix, maybe Maltese, take your pick, something low sheddy! We are located in San Antonio and the $400 adoption fee covers transport, vaccinations, spaying and microchip. I am ready to travel. Just adopt me first! Please call CARE at 210-858-8422 or email email@example.com to adopt me! CARE is a San Antonio, Texas, based organization that saves dogs/cats from local shelters that would otherwise be euthanized. Active Senior. 8#. Loves kids of all ages; but like all Maltese, for dog's safety should not be unsupervised with small children. Health: Needs daily ointment or drops for 'dry eye'. All shots, worming, checkups current. She is housebroken; but does not adequately communicate (for our household)her need to 'go', which may result in an 'accident' 1 - 2 times per week. I can no longer care for her and I want to relocate her to another family.

Rescue Me ID: 14-04-04-00015Jack (male)
Are you the one who's going to be lucky enough to get this teddy bear? Jack is a 4 year old, Maltese who is looking for his forever home. He came to us when his owner became ill. Jack needs a parent who is a definite pack leader as he tends to try to be dominant. Jack gets along with most dogs, but hates black ones, so if you have a black or dark colored dog you are not the home for him. He loves toys, and has very much enjoyed playing with his younger foster brother. Jack is currently on thyroid medication, which is very easy and inexpensive. Jack is overweight at 12 lbs and should probably weigh 10 lbs. He was 13 1/2 lbs when he came into rescue. Won't you be the one to open your heart and your home to this happy boy? If you are interested in adopting Jack please fill out our adoption application at http://www.americanmalteserescue.org/application.html Jacks adoption fee will be $300. (Less)

Animal ID: 13-244Kennon (female)
Kennon is an approximately 8 yr old, 9 1/2 lb. spayed female. She is housebroke, and uses a doggy door. Like all dogs going into a new environment, her new family will need to teach her the rules of their house. Kennon was debarked by her former owner, so if you have close neighbors they will not be bothered by a barking dog. Her favorite thing is to cuddle close to her person or on their lap, and snuggles up to me at night. She is great with all the dogs here and plays with them occasionally. I don't have cats so can't say how she will do with them. She will be fine as an only dog or with another small one. If you are interested in adopting Kennon, please fill out our adoption application at http://www.americanmalteserescue.org/application.html (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-19-00511Daisy (female)
The Human Society states that 6 to 8 million cats and dogs enter US shelters each year. 3.5 million make it out alive. By adopting a rescue dog you are a part of the solution. Adoption fee includes transportation from CA to WA. Personality: Daisy is a snuggly, super sweet girl with a beautiful, loving personality. There is nothing like snuggling up with her! She is also really good with other dogs and shows no signs of aggression. She will make an outstanding companion dog. She is small, so little children would not be the best for her because she could get hurt easily. School aged children would be fine. We hear cats are not her favorite. Appearance & Breed: We believe that Daisy is a maltese and poodle mix. She has hair like a maltese. It was cut short due to matting, but it will grow out nicely. Daisy resembles a poodle with maltese hair. She is small in size and about 10 lbs. She is a very sweet dog that need to be with a companion to be happy. She will make a great best friends and soul mate! She just may change your life forever. She will bring friendship and comfort to her owner. She is that kind of girl. Past: Daisy and her 3 unweaned pups were on their way to being dumped at the San Bernardino Shelter in CA., when a rescue partner intercepted them in the parking lot. Instead, they were taken to the vet and then into foster care. This shelter often gives their dogs 1-3 day to live and the shelter can mean death to little pups with no disease immunity. The pups are weaned now and Daisy is done being a mom. She is now waiting for that special person to love her. Health and Safety: Daisy was given vaccines and she was heart worm tested. The results were negative. The vet certified that she is in good health. She is now in foster care in Seattle. She will have her spay surgery with our vet before her adoption. Needs: She would do best with a retired person, someone who works from home, or with a family willing to give her lots of attention. She will make a very loving and loyal companion. Our Mission: We are a small, passionate 100% volunteer organization that networks, rescues and fosters small dogs. We strive to make a perfect match between dog and new owner. We do not charge for our time, our gas, our dog's food, toys, treats etc. We only ask that our adopters pay their dog's rescue expenses. We can't lower our prices since what we are asking does not always cover all of a dog's expenses. If you are not happy with that, ask the vets to lower their prices. Vet care is our largest expense. What you get from us is a great dog that has had everything that is needed covered. *Our rescue requires an application and home visit.* No out of state or country adoptions. Adoption fee $500.00 It includes: *Microchipping *Vaccinations including rabies *Heart worm test (negative) *health certificate showing her good health *Spay/Neuter with IV fluids and pain meds. Some rescues do no use this procedure, but the anesthetic can damage their organs. We feel it is worth the extra money. *all health care before adoption *Frontline flea treatment *Professional Grooming-hair, nails, ears, teeth, anal glands *Energy treatments from Reconnective Therapy *Transport from CA to Seattle *Collar and Leash *Food and Instructions for care (Less)
